Our family life and community life can be our first teacher of this most fundamental reality that we are part of each other and not separate. Whether we learn this in our family or in other communities, it is an indispensable life lesson. For a healthy global society, we must internalize this basic fact that we each contribute our own part to the whole, and that we must therefore look after each part in order to create a world that is complete and flourishing.
